A house begins
as a letter.
No drawings are needed, and nothing is decided yet. Tell us where the house would stand, what it is for, and who will grow old in it. The letter leaves from your own hand — the workshop holds no forms, and the master answers within a week.
Three houses leave the valley each year. The timber for one more is drying now; the book for 2028 holds one open place.
A tinging runs long by design: seven years from blaze to felling, seven from felling to walls. Most of our letters are answered by the next master to hold the axe. That is normal here.
